No Bank Holiday Pay Date Clashes in 2027
Good news for 2027. None of the 13 Sainsbury’s pay dates fall on an English bank holiday, so all payments land on their standard Fridays with no adjustments needed. Easter 2027 falls on 28 March (Easter Sunday) — our nearest pay date is 5 March, which is unaffected. Christmas Day 2027 falls on a Saturday, with the bank holiday observed on Monday 27 December. Our last pay date of the year is 10 December, which is clear.
How Sainsbury’s Four-Weekly Pay Cycle Works in 2027
The 4-weekly cycle continues directly from December 2026. The last pay date of 2026 is 11 December. Add 28 days and you land on 8 January 2027, which is the first pay date of the new year. The cycle then runs every 28 days without interruption until 10 December 2027.
13 pay dates per year means that some calendar months in 2027 will contain two Sainsbury’s paydays, while others contain none. In 2027 the months where you receive two payments are January (8 Jan falls at the start, and you also received one in December 2026), and colleagues in their first year will notice this pattern around a different month depending on when their cycle lands. It sounds confusing. In practice, once you are in the rhythm it is predictable and manageable.
When to Expect Your Payslip in OurSainsburys in 2027
The process is identical to 2026. Your payslip is uploaded to the OurSainsburys portal — previously known as MySainsburys — on the Wednesday before the Friday payday. So for example, for the 8 January 2027 pay date, payslips appear from Wednesday 6 January.

Download it as a PDF and save a copy locally — especially if you think you may need it for a mortgage, rental application, or loan during the year.
Sainsbury’s Pay Rates in 2027
Sainsbury’s typically announces pay rises for the following year in January or February. For reference, the 2026 rate was £13.23 per hour nationally and £14.54 in London, following a 5% increase confirmed in January 2026. A 2027 rate announcement is expected in early 2027 — this page will be updated when confirmed.
Whatever the rate, the increase will automatically appear in your pay from the effective date and will be reflected on the payslip for that period. You do not need to apply or opt in.
